Join us for an engaging and reflective professional development session with Shakun Ilawadhi, Consultant – Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), as we explore how SEL can move beyond activities and become part of the everyday fabric of school life.
With 20 years of experience in education, including 12 years as a classroom teacher and over a decade leading schoolwide SEL, Shakun brings together practical experience, reflective practice, and a deep understanding of human development.
🌱 From SEL Lessons to SEL Culture
In this session, participants will explore how SEL comes alive through:

Everyday relationships – how we connect, communicate, and respond to one another.

Language and routines – the small, consistent practices that shape a school’s culture.

Teaching and learning – integrating SEL naturally across the curriculum and classroom experience.

Real-life application – noticing how children use emotional vocabulary, relationships, decision-making, and SEL strategies beyond the lesson.

Reflective practice – using meaningful indicators and questions to understand what is working and where there is room to grow.

What does it sound like in our corridors and conversations?
