Mr. Farid Shaikh is the Founder and Principal of Gurukul English High School and Jr. College. Rising from a humble background in the slums of Malwani, Mumbai, he left a secure corporate job in 2004 to establish a school for underprivileged children, driven by his passion for education and social impact.
Mr. Shaikh holds three postgraduate degrees in Accounts, Management, and Education, along with diplomas in Cooperation & Accountancy and Taxation Law from Mumbai University. A lifelong learner, he actively participates in leadership and education-focused training programs. He is also a certified NCC ‘C’ cadet and a National Champion in Rifle Shooting, trained under the Indian Army.
Recognized for his service during the COVID-19 crisis, he received the Corona Yodha Award from the Hon’ble MP of Mumbai and numerous accolades from NGOs. He also serves on the advisory boards of organizations supporting education for underserved communities and has been felicitated for donating blood 56 times.
