Neha Chheda is the Head of Junior School at Bombay International School (K-5), heading the PYP programme, and a Director at Adhyayan. In her role as the head of the PYP, the school actively promotes student agency and high parental involvement in running the school. Neha has over 23 years of experience in the field of education.
Prior to her work as an educator, she was a financial research analyst immersed completely in the financial sector. Her first foray in the education sector was with Shishuvan, an ICSE school, where she donned various hats as the Head of the Primary Department, Principal and Director. Under her leadership, Shishuvan has been named one of the top 10 schools in Maharashtra by Education World, and the number 1 school in “The Hindustan’s” Mumbai’s East Zone. The school boasts an active parent involvement along with a strong student voice. During her tenure at the school, Neha has been on the selection panel of the British Council’s International Schools’ Award for 3 years and Shishuvan has continued to build in the international dimension in its integrated curriculum.
Having successfully set up and led the school, Neha decided to shift her focus and partner with Adhyayan Quality Education Services for 6 years. She is an Adhyayan Lead Assessor and has led over 45 external reviews. She has led the ASIST (Adhyayan School Support and Training) programme at Adhyayan and has rich experience in designing professional development of school leaders, teaching leaders and creating bespoke programmes for school transformation for state, national and international board schools.
Neha engages in continuous professional development. In the past, she has undergone training conducted by IIM Kolkata for ICSE principals, NABET training, and has presented at Exseed Conference, Teach for India, ACEED, at the Invisible College, Toronto on Teacher Performance Review in June 2019, at the Open Conference for Computers in Education at TISS, and various other local forums. She has also completed the Harvard Business School course on Strategic Non-Profit Management in India at Ashoka University. She has co-authored a chapter proposal titled ‘A Process of Teacher Performance Review for Continuous Improvement’ to be considered for inclusion in “Building Teacher Quality in India: Examining Policy Frameworks and Implementation Outcomes” (a new volume in the International Perspectives on Education and Society Series published by Emerald Publishing, UK) in December 2019, along with Ms. Susan Hillman from Saginaw Valley State University, Michigan.
